Kapolei Golf Club was designed by Ted Robinson, known throughout Hawaii for his signature water features, and it shows: lakes run through three of the front nine holes, and the rolling terrain gets noticeably tougher once the trade winds pick up in the afternoon. It’s a full 18-hole championship layout in Leeward Oahu, the island’s drier, sunnier side, which makes it a dependable pick when Waikiki mornings are overcast. Of Oahu’s three dozen-plus golf courses, only a handful partner directly with hotels, and none of them are in Waikiki itself. How to get to the Kapolei Golf Club from Luana Waikiki Hotel
Kapolei Golf Club sits about 23 miles west of Luana Waikiki, a straightforward 35 to 40 minute drive via the H-1 Freeway, traffic dependent. From the hotel, head west on H-1 and stay on it until it becomes Farrington Highway (Route 93) in Kapolei. The club is at 91-701 Farrington Highway, on your right.
